Joseph B. Gold,
M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Gold graduated cum laude from
Williams College where he was phi beta kappa. He received his
doctor of medicine degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine
in the Bronx, and then completed a medical internship at the Berkshire
Medical Center in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. After graduating from
his ophthalmology residency at the Montefiore Medical Center/Albert
Einstein College of Medicine, he was a Fellow in cornea and external eye
diseases at the Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
where he performed clinical research on the ocular surface and published
scientific papers. He then joined the full time faculty at the
Center for Sight at the Georgetown University Medical Center where he was
co-director of the cornea service and Assistant Professor in the
Department of Ophthalmology. He then was in private
practice in Hewlett, New York for 14 years before moving to the
Berkshires and opening his Great Barrington practice in 2001.
